What RFPfit does
RFPfit aggregates Canadian public-sector procurement notices from official open-data sources and surfaces the ones that fit a specific set of services — creative, media, communications, public consultation, training, research, evaluation, accessibility, digital, and nonprofit-adjacent work.
Instead of scanning a general tender portal built around construction and IT procurement, you get a catalog scoped to the kind of work you actually bid on.
Who it is for
RFPfit is built for suppliers who bid on Canadian public-sector contracts in those service areas:
- Independent consultants — solo practices bidding on strategy, research, evaluation, and facilitation work
- Agencies and studios — creative, media, and communications shops looking for public-sector clients
- Nonprofits and charities — mission-driven organizations delivering training, public engagement, and community programs under contract
- Research and accessibility specialists — evaluation, digital, and accessibility practices whose notices generalist portals bury
If your organization does construction, IT infrastructure, or general goods procurement outside those areas, the general source portals will serve you better.
Which sources are covered
RFPfit currently covers CanadaBuys (federal), SEAO (Québec), the City of Toronto, and Yukon Bids & Tenders for procurement, plus grant opportunities from Canadian arts and industry funders. Each notice is drawn from an official open-data source under that source's licence, with attribution shown on every listing. See Sources for the current list, licences, and how many open notices each contributes.
RFPfit only adds sources that publish under a permissive open-data licence and provide an official access method — it does not scrape portals whose terms do not allow it.
How it works
1. Notices flow in from official open-data sources on each source's own refresh cadence. 2. Each notice is checked against RFPfit's service scope — creative, communications, consultation, research, and adjacent work. 3. You browse the filtered catalog, search by keyword, and save what fits to your organization's shared shortlist.
What you need to start
Nothing. The full public catalog at /opportunities is open to anyone with no sign-in required. Browsing, keyword search, and closing-date filters are all free. A free account adds an organization dashboard, a shared saved-opportunities watchlist, saved searches with email digests, a deadline calendar, and intelligence pages.
